Vineyards

The first section of the vineyard started as a test plot with 8 varietals on 5 different root stocks to best determine what works in the micro climate of the property.  Karen called upon friends and neighbors to come to a planting party, with promises of food and drink after the work was done.  The work was completed and the BBQ was on and the wine flowing before noon!

Subsequent choices for additional plantings were made based upon vine characteristics, finished wines and grape cluster taste.  Primarily, Sangiovese, Barbara and Cabernet Franc varietals have been planted, with additional plans for grafting over some vines to additional Malbec.
